Diane Pride email of 11/22/2003 to Jerry D. Abshier states that the Halifax Co., North Carolina Deed Book #3, page 220, references this land purchase. The land was located on the south side of the Morattock River in Edgecombe Co., and was known as the 'flowerly hundred', but it was also "vulgarly called Mush Island". It consisted of 230 acres and is also referenced in Deed Book #3 on page 33.
