Son of Providence Mounts and Isabelle Smith, married Henrietta E Van Duzen (daughter of Ezra Williams Van Duzen, Sr. and Ann Eliza Dowd) on 27 Sep 1865 in Campbell County, KY. Served as Warren County (Ohio) Commissioner from 1874 to 1880.

Burial records at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati indicate that William died of Consumption (Tuberculosis), and was buried in the Van Duzen Family Plot at Spring Grove - Sect 16, Lot 261 on 24 Sep 1886. This is the plot of his father-in-law; E.W. Van Duzen. Burial Record # is 43229, see Reference #1.

There is no headstone in Sect 16, Lot 261 that bears his name. There are 15 graves in that plot, but only several have individual stones (Plot is marked by a large family marker that reads "Van Duzen"). There is a marker bearing his name at Hopkinsville United Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Warren Co, Ohio (his wife, parents, two children and a sibling are buried there).

There is no burial record for Henrietta Van Duzen-Mounts at Spring Grove; it appears that she's buried next to him at Hopkinsville United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In response to an inquiry on the subject, Spring Grove Cemetery maintains that he was interred at Spring Grove on September 24, 1886 in Section 16 Lot 261, and has no record of his remains being moved.
