As noted above, Robert and his five ch. by his 1st marriage appear to have come over about 1764 from Co. Monaghan, Ireland, with his brothers Hugh, Joseph and John, and his sisters; their uncle William (with, perhaps, some of his ch.); and their parents, Samuel-1 and Isabella (Riddell) McChesney.
