Will
- In a Court held in Kanawha County at the Court on Monday the 10th day of September 1827; The last will and testament of William May dec'd, late of this county was this day presented in Court, Proved by the oath's of George Harrison and William Conner, Subscribing witnesses there to and ordered to be recorded.
- Kanawha county Virginia, April 16th 1824 In the name of God amen, I William May of the county and state afore said find myself in my perfect senses, Do make this my last will and testament.
- First, I will and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth my Sorrel Mare and colt, also my Jack horse, Likewise all my cattle and house hold furniture. After all my just debts are paid also I will to my son William May one dollar. also I will to my son John May one dollar, also to my son James May one dollar, Also to my son Thomas May one dollar, Also to my son Jacob May one dollar, Also to my son Reuben May one dollar.
- Also I will to my daughter Mary Pettry one dollar, Also to my daughter Hannah May one dollar, Also to my Daughter Jane Stewart one dollar, Also to my Daughter Elizabrth Elkins one dollar, which is to be paid out of my estate.
- I testimony whereof I have set my hand and seal this day and date above written.
