Subj:Re: Query on Lancaster Co. Page Date:1/17/99 6:21:02 AM Pacific Standard Time From:JRWhiskey To:Delijim Jim, First the Marrs line - I have back to Samuel's father, William Erskine Marrs, the supposed son of the Earl of Mar who fled at the fall of the Jacobite rebellion in 1715. William had 3 sons that we know of -- Samuel, Henry Munday, and Barnabas. Henry married and had 3 children: Samuel, George, and Catherine. Catherine married Philip Negly (1/16/1799), and that line is documented. Samuel married Jane Johnson 6/25/1810. Barnabas also married and had one sone, Thomas. All 3 brothers were in KY at the ends of their lives. The only info I have on William are a collection of family stories, which generally all have the same theme with slight variations here and there. I've contributed several of these stories to Anthony's Marrs' web page. Here's a line: Anthony's web page. Another good web page on the history is Jean Leeper's page, who descends from Samuel's eldest child Henry "Big Creek" Marrs: Jean's web page. I only have a small page on Family Tree Maker which lists the index out of my family files. My page It looks like you have FTM, so I could extract some info for you if you're interested. About McClure's... I have a suspected father of Jane McClure, but nothing more - and I have no proof to substantiate yet. I don't think I have any of the folks you sent me. Do you descend from William Marrs and Jane McClure? I have a short tree with a father named William McClure d. about 7/1794 in Bourbon Co., KY who married Elizabeth Kerr 12/26/1769. They had at least 4 children -- John, Lucy, Jane, and Eleanor. Since Jane and William Marrs were married in Bourbon Co., KY 11/25/1794 I think this may be a good start. I was on the Lancaster Co. page checking out leads on Francina Bradshaw. There seems to be a Christopher Bradshaw that died in Chanceford Twp, in York Co. in 1756 who may be father to Francina. (see Anthony's page). As neighbors often married back then I was looking into other areas nearby .... scottish settlements, etc. Anyhow, let me know what or who your looking for specifically, and we can share some FTM files. I've got > 2000 folks in my Marrs file. Most of my info comes from family books -- Marrs by Mabel Marrs, Marrs/Erskine Family by Jean Leeper, and research notes from Betty Jean Albertson Marrs. Actual bit of info that I've found have been in the later years of the family line -- when William and Jane went to Shelby Co., Ohio as this is where my Dad's gr grandfather was born.
