At his death, the estate of Sergeant William Lord was inv. £290-3-6 by Samuel Emmons, Jr., John Lord and Thomas Cone, Dec 28, 1736, adm. granted to his son William Lord. Jr., who filed bond £500 with Jonathan Lord of Colchester, Conn., as surety. Dec 6, 1737, an agreement of the heirs, including a receipt and discharge of their brother William Lord, Jr., was approved by the court; the agreement was signed by William Lord, Mary Lord, Joseph Crouch and wife Hannah Crouch, Sarah Lord, John Shepardson and Hepzibah Shepardson, Mehitabel Lord and Susannah Lord, 'all heirs of William Lord, Sen., of East Haddam, our honored father.'"

    Articles of agreement, made by us whose names are hereunto subscribed, in the following manner, viz.: William Lord, Mary Lord, Joseph Crouch and his wife Hannah Crouch, Sarah Lord, John Sheppason and Hepsibah Sheppason, Mehetabell Lord and Susannah Lord, all heirs of William Lord, Sen., of East Haddam, our honoured father, for the division and settlement of his estate to us the surviving heirs, to each of us our respective portions thereof: We do all agree that we have received the whole of our portions to our full satisfaction, and do acquit and discharge our brother William Lord, Jr., of any further demand of any of the estate of our honoured father William Lord decd., whether real or personal.
