Wm Monroe Klotz was born in Jackson Twp near Millersville, April 20, 1868. When a child, his parents located in Madison Twp near Quinshan, whe re he was reared and resided until 1880, when he came. He was employed by Jo hn Tebbe in the hardware store, for whom he worked for two years or more, when he w as united in marriage with Miss Dora, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tebbe. Two chil dren were born to them.

Willie was a decorator by profession and was working at his trade wh en taken sick. For some time he had felt badly and at last, one week ago last Frida y, took his bed with typhoid fever. The fever was broken last Friday, but hemorrha ge set in and hastened his death, which occurred Tuesday morning about four o'clo ck.

The deceased was a quiet industrious honorable citizen, and a kind a nd jovial husband and father. He was a member of the G.V.F.D taking an active intere st in its meetings and drills, and is the first of the boys to be taken. He leav es a wife, son Walter, daughter Ada, father, two sisters, Mrs. W Hutchinson and Mr s. Jasper Smith, of Quinshan, and one brother, Frank, of this place, besides other r elatives.

The funeral occurs from the Lutheran church today, conducted by Rev s. W.H Mohrhoff and Phillip Reid, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the cemetery nor th of town.
