William Ingram was baptised on 9th May 1727 at Grantham in Lincolnshire, son of Ann Ingram, formerly Gee, and her husband Joseph Ingram, a miller. The family lived at Manthorpe, just north of the town itself. William has yet to be traced after his baptism.
