    He is identified as one of "John Horton's heirs" in the Schedule and Charter of Brabazon in 1345, and is listed, with his wife Agnes, in the Poll Tax for Mowsley in 1381 [citing Lay Subsidy 133/35 in Leicester Public Record Office; cited by Horton-Smith (1943), 9].
