William Hoadley (William1), born ____; died 30 May 1738 in Branford, Conn.; … William Hoadley, Jr., on the first Monday of June, 1710, applied for letters of administration on the estate of his father, which the court refused. He appealed to the Court of Assistants which granted his suit. However, it seems he did not have administration either alone or with Nathaniel Johnson, his brother-in-law. William Hoadley was granted the privilege of setting up a saw-mill on Stony river, if he would agree to sell boards at 5 shillings and not take more than half a log to pay for sawing it."
