US Congressman. Elected to represent Indiana's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1879 to 1883. He was defeated in 1872, 1874, and 1882. He also served as a Member of the Indiana State House of Representatives in 1871, and as a Member of the Indiana State Senate from 1877 to 1879.
