Fought in the C S. A. at Bull Run and Manassas as lieutenant of a company from Lynchburg; after, was elected captain of a company from Amherst; served under Jackson; died in the hospital at Richmond from the effect of a wound recieved at Chancellorsville. "He was a brave soldier"
