44. WILLIAM HANBURY: (33 John) Born 1614; died 1650, in Boston Massachusetts; married Hannah Souther, September 28, 1641, in Plymouth, Massachusetts. He was a highly respected Merchant of Plymouth and Boston. After his death in 1650, his widow apparently married Edward Bendall. In 1657, she filed a petition in the Boston Court, claiming that the divorce granted Edward Bendall was against the law. She was also known as Hannah Hanburrow. William Hanbury was also known as William Hanbery, Hanberry, and Henbury. There were four children. The names of three are known. Children (HANBURY) 45. Hannah - married Francis Johnson on August 5, 1656. They were married by Governor John Endicott. NFI. 46. John - of Duxbury, MA. NFI. 47. William - born December 5, 1648, in Plymouth, MA. He was baptized on December 11, 1648, in the Church of Plymouth. The church record reads: "William - son of Hannah and William Hanbrough". The only other reference to William is in 1682, when he sued the City of Boston over some land. Apparently he lost the suit. NFI.
