Hall was a native of Lyme, Eng.; orphaned at age 14, "he took to a seafaring life . . . for twenty years (and) suffered shipwreck and capture five times" Geneva Gazette

Conway was nobly patriotic in furnishing men and meansfor the struggle, and at one time, in 1777, every able-bodied man within the town's limits was under arms. _________________________________________________________________________________ Three of his children married Glover's, Tamesin m David Glover, Ruhama m Philander Glover and Joseph m Joanna Northam d of Joanna Glover. David and Philander were 2nd cousins once removed. David and Joanna Northam were also 2nd cousins once removed. Philander and Joanna Northam were 1st cousins. _________________________________________________________________________________ Phelps Library has When Phelps was young 1939 Ridley, Helen Post. John Hall is apparently mentioned in the section on Osee Crittenden.
