William Hale’s origins have yet to be established. His first confirmed sighting is on 17th August 1772, when he married Ann Marshall at Hampton in Worcestershire. In 1776 they had two children baptised at Hampton: a son called Jotham and daughter called Elizabeth. William has yet to be traced after his children’s baptisms.
