William Green Sr. was the father of William Green who married Martha Stanton. William Sr. was a British soldier who defected to America during the Revolution and married Hannah Wheeler in 1776. They had two son, William and Ezra. Ezra went to Michigan and William went to Ohio. William Green and Hannah Wheeler never went further than Pennsylvania. William died in 1810 and Hannah in 1839. There were other Greens in Massachusetts who may have been related, but William Green, Sr. was a British immigrant. I have nothing further on him. My husband is a direct descendant of William and Martha (Stanton) Green of Ohio.
