Bio: Mr. William Finchum was a US Army Veteran. He served in the Coast Artillery Corps (CAC) as an Iron Worker.

He was born to parents Isaiah Finchum and Jemima A. Easter Finchum, both of Owen County, Indiana. Jemima was the second wife of Isaiah. He married first to Elizabeth A. Rucker.

William had one brother, Charles Ernest Finchum who settled in Indianapolis, Indiana.

On November 18, 1887, William married Michele A. Phipps. He married 2nd to Mina Zella Kemp on June 5, 1906 in Hamilton County, Indiana. He and Mina had a son, John R., and a daughter, Violet. Neither of the wives' graves have been located.

William's grandparents on his father's side were William S.R. Finchum and Margaret Elizabeth Sink Finchum.

William died in the National Military Home in Ohio from complications of tuberculosis.
