- The oft-mistaken Cutter, Vol. 1, p. 539, says of William, s/o Joseph Ellis and Thamezin Adams, that he "born and died June 14, 1722". No death record is found in Medway records, nor has any evidence been located to support this, such as a gravestone, etc. There is a baptism for William, s/o Joseph, 20 Oct 1723, and this is far enough removed from the birthdate that Cutter could be right and another son named William born, but Cutter shows no such second William either. Since the age at date calculates to 1721, and even if it turns out, in contradiction to the record, that in 93rd year was the literal or intended meaning, that would still be 1722, not 1723. So until evidence to support a second son is found, it seems more likely Cutter was simply wrong.
