- Dollar, William - entered service 1776 in Frederick County, Virginia; granted Pension at age 79 in Union County, Indiana; died 9/6/1838 in Fulton County, Illinois; married 1780 to Ruth Beezley of Berkeley County, Virginia, either that County or in Frederick County, Virginia; widow died 2/19/1842; children's births: Mary 2/19/1781 (married John Logan), Joseph 9/6/1785, Elizabeth 9/5/1788 (married John Thorp), William Jr. 12/2/1789, James 9/29/1792, Jesse 10/6/1797, Lydia/Lyda 7/4/1805 who married Matthew Tatum who applied for Pension 1843 in Fulton County, Illinois, in behalf of widow's surviving children: Mary Logan of Indiana, Elizabeth Thorp of Arkansas, James of Indiana, Jesse of Missouri, William Jr. of Georgia, & Lydia Tatum of Fulton County, Illinois; query letter in file 1922 from great grand-daughter Miss Carrie Logan, Brookville, Indiana states soldier born in Wales, Great Britain, ran away from home at age 17, spent 3 years on whaling ship, then went to Virginia where he entered service, was company barber in Revolutionary War, married Ruth Beesly & their eldest daughter Mary was mother of querier's father; further soldier resided with his daughter Mary Logan, Brookville, Indiana, for a period of time.
