July 8, 1709; served as a Burgess, 1743-44; was a staunch and liberal supporter of the Established Church, and Vestryman of St. Peter's Parish; m. Jan. 29, 1729, Elizabeth Churchill, b. 1710; d. April 16, 1779; dau. of Hon. William and Elizabeth (Armistead) Churchill, of Middlesex Co., Va. His wid. m. (second) July 10, 1752, William Dawson, President of William and Mary College. He died ten days later. (See Armistead lineage.) Issue:
