W. K. Davis, 78, passed away at his home, 430 N. Oleander St., Daytona Beach, Fla., Feb. 12, of a heart attack after a long illness. He was born in Alfred, N. Y., March 26, 1869, the son of the Rev. Darius K. and Lucinda Davis. He attended Milton college in 1893 and later went into the newspaper business in Milton and Milton Junction.
He came to Daytona Beach in 1939 and was a resident there for nine years. He was an active member of the Seventh Day Baptist church in Daytona Beach and served as a member of the board of trustees.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Wellman Davis, nephews Charles Allison Davis of Long Beach, Calif., and Dr. Myrl Nelson Davis of Appleton; and a niece, Mrs. John Stahutak of Chicago.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Seventh Day Baptist church, Daytona Beach, with the Rev. J. W. Crofoot officiating.
Pallbearers were L. Emile Babcock, Clifford Branch, Edmund R. Garitt, Charles Edward Hendrick, and Barry Dale.
Burial was at Cedar Hill cemetery, Daytona Beach.
