This indenture made the fourth day of May in the year of the Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety between Henry Harmon and Nancy his wife of the County of Wythe of the one part and William Davis of the State of Virginia and county aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Henry Harman and Nancy his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand paid at or before the sealing of these presencesthe receipts whereof the said Henry Harman and Nancy his wife do hereby acknowledge.Hath granted, bargained and sold? and released and confirmed unto the said William Davis his heirs exor?? and assigns and by these presents do bargain, sell, grant, release and confirm unto the said William Davis his heirs one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Wythe county on the middle fork of Walkers creek containing two hundred acres and joining the land the said Davis now lives on and bounded as follows, to witBeginning at the hickories in a draftnear a cabin on the south side of the creek, N 13° W 86 poles to a buckeye on a rise by a branch, N 67°E 86 poles to three sugar trees by a spring, N 50°W 80 poles crossing the creek to two white oaks on a bank N 40°E 30 poles to a white oak and dogwood on said Davis line, N 53°W 26 poles crossing a meadow to a white oak on a hill, N 30° E 56 poles to two alums by a branch,N 70°E 34 poles to three white oaks in a flat, N 124 poles through a field to four white oaks on the north side of a hill, S 85°W 60 poles to three white oaks on the south side of the hill, S 30°W 160 poles crossing a branch to three white oaks on the top of a hill, S 13°E 14 poles to two red oaks growing from one root by the creek, S 66°E 80 poles to two red oaks, S 6°W 280 poles crossing the creek to two hickories on the north side of a hill, N 34°E 190 poles to the Beginning.And also all wood under woods profits commodities hereditaments wayswater courses improvements appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract of land mentions belonging or anyways appertaining and also the Reversion and Reversions, remainders and remainder and services of the said premises and every part thereof to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and also all and singular this said premises above mentions and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said William Davis his heirs to the only proper use and behoof of the said William Davis his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Henry Harman and Nancy his wife for themselves and their heirs this said tract or parcel of land and premises and every part thereof against them and their heirs and ? and all and every other person or persons whatsoever to him the said William Davis his heirs shall and forever warrant and defend. This Indenture made eight day of April one thousand seven hundred and ninety six between William Davis and Priscilla his wife of the one part of the County of Wythe and Sate of Virginia and Peter Helvey of the County of Montgomery and state aforesaid of the other part witnessth that the said William Davisand Priscilla his wife for and in consideration of the sum of forty pounds Virginia currency to them in hand paid by the said Peter Helvey the receipt whereof before the signing sealing and delivering of these presents they do hereby acknowledge and do by thesepresens? William Davis & Precilla his wife of the County of Giles & Commonwealth of Virginia of the one part and Adam Harman of the County of Wythe and Commonwealth aforesaid witnessth that the said William Davis and Precilla his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds currency to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by there presence do grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Adam Harman his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcell of land conveyed to saidWilliam Davis by George Peery by Indenture of bargain and sale bearing date the 4th day of January 1799 to be bounded by the lines and corners of the said tract except that part that the said William Davis has heretofore conveyed to his son James which is to be excluded and not to be considered as part of the land conveyed to the said Harman but is to be bounded on that part of the survey by the conditional line marked & agreed upon by the contracting parties to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtanances unto the said Adam Harman [looks like](except or before excepted) and his heirs forever and the said William Davis & Precilla his wife the said land above mentioned against all claim of themselves their heirs or assigns and all and every other person or persons whatsoever will forever warrant and defend by these presents in witness whereof the said William Davis & Precilla his wife hath hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their seals the day above written- (Signed) William Davis(SEAL). This indenture made this eighteenth day of November eighteen hundred twenty-six between James Davis, Hiram Davis, Isaac Davis, Abraham Davis, Archibald Davis heirs of William Davis deed of the one part and John Lambert of the county of Tazewell and the state of Virginia of the other part.?that or the above names William Davis deed did bargain unto the above names John Lambert for the sum of fifteen pounds, one certain tract of land containing twenty-seven acres situated and lying in the County of Wythe on the waters of Walker Creek on branch of New River, it being lay Virtue of a deed made to the said William Davis deed from Henry Harman and bound as follows: Beginning at two hickories sap line and run thence North 13 degrees west 38 poles to an ash corner to Peter Helvey's line, at 80 degrees west, crossing a branch at 51 poles... Together with its appurtenance to have to hold to the sole use and behalf of the said John Lambert and his heirs forever with all its appurtenances and the the said James Davis, Hiram Davis, Isaac Davis, Abraham Davis, Archibald Davis, heirs of the above named William Davis deed for themselves and their heirs the said tract or parcel of land forever, It is agreed on by the parties to this indenture that the said John Lambert is not to have recourse on these under named Davis's as to any claim to said land hath herewith subscribed their names affixed thereon the day and year above written.     William Davis born sometime before 1765 per the 1810 Giles County, Virginia census married Priscilla Grimes probably sometime around mid to late 1770’s in unknown place. They had eight known children: Mary born about 1780 married James Drinnon 12 May 1797 in Bath County, Virginia; James born in the 1780’s married Rachel Kennison 12 May 1797 in Bath County; Hiram H. born about 1779-80 married Elizabeth “Betsey” Burk 21 July 1808 in Giles; William born about 1781[1] in North Carolina married 1st Lovica (maiden name unknown) and 2nd Nancy Cook Banes; Nancy born about 1793[2] married Mark Kennison in or around Bath County. Later moved to Elkhart County, Indiana; Abraham born about 1791 in Virginia[3] married Sarah Moore 17 March 1817 in Giles; Isaac born between 1790-1800 married Jane Patterson 24 December 1818 in Wythe County, Virginia; Archibald born about 1798 in Virginia[4] married Elizabeth Caddall 16 July 1823 in Giles County.
