William, son of Peter and Mary Hull Crumrin, was born April 26, 1853 and departed this life March 15, 1931, almost 78 years of age.
He grew to manhood on his fathers farm near Melrose, and in his youth learned early the lessons of industry and thrift, and these he practiced through-out his life.
He was an honest, just, unassuring man who in all his dealings with his fellowmen, lived the Golden Rule doing to others as he expected them to do unto him.
In early life he was united with the Church of God, in Melrose, and later transferred his membership to the Christian Church in West Union, where he lived a very active, faithful member for the remainder of his days.
In 1880 he was married to Mary Cline, and to them were given seven sons, of whom the following, five are living: Harry of Chandlersville, Fred of Melrose, Roy of Mt. Carmel, Reno of Flaxville, Montana and Herschel of Charleston.
This wife departed this life in 1892 and in 1894 he was married to Mrs. Elizabeth Ferrel, who survives him, and who has been a loving wife, a devoted mother to his children, giving him, the most tender care and fullest measure of comfort during his declining years and last illness.
Besides his wife and five sons, he leaved to mourn his departure, two brothers, Edward of West Union and Chester of Sault Sainte Marie, Mich., nine grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Elder H. P. French at the Christian church in West Union. Interment in the York Cemetery.
