Descendants of William Harmen Click

Generation No. 1

1. WILLIAM HARMEN3 CLICK (DAVID2, JOHN CLICK1 SR) was born June 06, 1833, and died April 15, 1887 in Wesleyville, Carter Co., Kentucky. He married MARY "POLLY" ELLEN PATTON March 16, 1854 in Beaver Creek Floyd Co. Kentucky, daughter of DELILA UNK. She was born January 29, 1839, and died July 22, 1914.

Notes for WILLIAM HARMEN CLICK: William H. Click is shown with family in 1880 Carter Co Ky Census his age is shown as 47- Farmer Wife Mary Ellen (Patton) Click is shown here using name "Polley" which seemes a common nicknaming practice for Mary, age 41 The names of family members include those shown by Charles Rice in 1870 Floyd County except that Samuel E is apparently listed as Epperson and Ida M. is listed as Margaret. Nancy Jane has married a Boyd and shown Living with William and Polley along with her two Daughters Rosina 3 years old Delila 8 months old at time of 1880 Census.

William H. Click was a Private in Company F of the 39th Kentucky Volunter Infantry. He enlisted at Louisa, Lawerence Co. KY on 22 May 1864 and was discharged at Louisville Kentucky September 15, 1865. He is shown on the 1890 special Civil War Vetrans census in Carter Co as being deceased.

Notes for MARY ELLEN PATTON: Mary Ellen Patton was married to William H. Click on 16 March 1854 by Anderew Goodman Christian Chruck. Witnesses included: Harvey Click of Limestone Carter Co (Brother of William H. Click and ) and his wife Mary's Uncle John Patton of Limestone Carter Co. (Note. Residences are at time of Widows petition below in 1889 not at date of marriage in 1854.)

Interestingly This is taken from Widows Petition that Mary Ellen filed in 1889. So when she mentioned the residence of Harvy Click and John Patton she was probably referring to where they lived in 1889 at time of petition as Harvy is shown residing in Floyd County as late as 1870 long after Mary's marriage in 1854. Harvy does not appear in 1880 Floyd Co Census so may have moved to Carter County by that time. However, unable to locate him in the 1880 Carter County Census although, William H. Click along with Mary "Polly" is shown in Carter County in 1880.
