I just looked up info from Ruby Bruggen, descendent of both Sarah Ann
and Harvey Patten. (Did you know first cousins married? Ruby was very
embarrassed about it.) George W. Childers and Sarah Ann Esmon married
April 28, 1867 by Wm. S. Davis, justice of peace. Born to this union:
    Anna Elizabeth b. March 12, 1868; William Britten, b. July 23, 1870, d.
    April 14, 1949; Wiley b. Nov. 9, 1873, d. Oct.1, 1877.
This same(?) Wm. S. Davis signed the pension papers Anna Davis Esmon
filed after Wm's death in the Civil War. He stated that he had known
her before and since her marriage to William. Was he her brother?
    Cousin? Relative?
Just today I found another descendent of Sarah Ann. Do you know Jerry
Pasley? Will be in touch when I hear again from him. Elena
