    William was the son of James & Martha "Patsy" (Patton) Campbell. He married in 1840 to Martha M. Finley. In 1850, Wm's mother is living with them in Wayne Twp. Adams Co., Oh. In 1860, they moved to Oliver Twp. & Wm's mother continues to reside with them. In 1870, they are residing in Oliver Twp. In 1900, Wm & his 2 daughters, Nancy & Cora are living in Oliver Twp., Adams Co., Oh. Wm farmed for a living. William and Martha had 9 children.

    - William Campbell's wife Martha Finley would have only been 10 years old at the birth of William's first child. Martha is likely a 2nd wife of William, probably prior to 1858 which would explain the gap in ages between William's 4th and 5th children. Needs further research.
