    OBITUARY.

    William Parkinson Brown was born in Virginia, October 30, 1847, died September 29, 1920, at the home of his son, D. T. Brown of this city, 72 years, 10 months and 29 days old. He being at the time of his death 73. [sic] He joined the Baptist Church at Walnut Grove Church in Boone County 27 years ago being a faithful member since, his membership being at Mt. Gilead church of this county at the time of his death. He was married to Nancy Helen Shacklett, October 10, 1975 [i.e., 1875], there were born to this union thirteen children, one dying in infancy. He is survived by his wife and one brother, Mart Brown near Rocheport and 12 children, four girls and eight boys. They are John B. Brown of Waterloo, Iowa, Mrs. C. W. Allison, Denison, Texas, Mrs. E. H. Garrett, Denison, Texas, Mrs. R. A. Harris and Mrs. Henry Davis, near Fayette, W. Price Brown, Washington, Iowa, Robert Brown of Irwin, Iowa, D. T. Brown of this city, Jessie E.[?] Brown, near Armstrong, Bryan S. Brown, Denison, Tex., Ben M. Brown, Kelley, Iowa, and Aubrey Brown of Waterloo, Iowa, and 25 grandchildren.
