    A transcription of his will:

    This is the last Will and Testament of me William Bloxham of the parish of Burton Dassett in the County of Warwick Grazier First I give devise and bequeath unto my nephew Humphrey Bloxham Son of my late Brother John Bloxham all that my little cottage or Tenement with the garden orchard and appurtenances thereto belonging situate standing at being in the Town of Avon Dassett in the County of Warwick and which I bought of Mr Woodward and now in the possession of Valentine Bachelor To hold the same unto my said Nephew Humphrey Bloxham and his heirs and assigns for ever I also give and bequeath unto my loving wife Elizabeth Bloxham one of my Beds with the Blankets Bedstead Furniture and appurtenances thereto belonging which She shall choose and also two pewter Dishes and six pewter plates and what other small necessaries of Household Goods She chooses I also give devise and bequeath unto my said wife Elizabeth Bloxham and her assigns for and during the Term of her natural Life one annuity for [...] yearly Rent charge of twenty pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be yearly and every year issuing and payable but of all my Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever situate lying and being in Avon Dassett aforesaid or elsewhere in the Kingdom of Great Britain and hereinafter given to my Nephew William Bloxham Son of my Brother Thomas Bloxham of Castle Bromwich in the County of Warwick and it is my Will and Desire that the said annuity shall be paid to my said wife by four equal quarterly payments on the four most usual feasts or Days of payment in the year that is to say the twenty fifth day of March the twenty fourth Day of June the twenty ninth day of September and the twenty fifth Day of December in every year by even and equal portions free and clear from all Taxes and Deductions whatsoever the first of the said quarterly payments to begin and be made on such of the said Days as shall happen next after my decease and my will further is that it shall and may be lawful to and for my said wife Elizabeth Bloxham and her assigns from time to time in case of Nonpayment of the said Annuity or any part thereof to raise the same by Distress upon all or any part of the premises charged therewith together with the Costs and Charges of such Distress I also give devise and bequeath unto my said Nephew William Bloxham Son of my said Brother Thomas Bloxham all my Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever situate standing lying and being in Avon Dassett aforesaid and now in the Tenure or Occupation of William Ladbroke or his assigns (except the said Little Cottage or Tenement hereinbefore by me given away) and also all other my Messuages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate whatsoever situate standing lying and being in Avon Dassett aforesaid or elsewhere in the Kingdom of Great Britain To hold the same unto my said Nephew William Bloxham his heirs and assigns for ever subject nevertheless to the payment of the said annuity of twenty pounds hereinbefore by me given to my said wife Elizabeth Bloxham and the Legacies to the several persons hereinafter by me given away I also give and bequeath unto my Son in Law William Bull of Daventry in the County of Northampton Grazier the Sum of eighty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain I also give and bequeath unto my Kinswoman Elizabeth Perkins wife of Phillip Perkins of Avon Dassett aforesaid yeoman the Sum of fifty pounds of like Money I also give and bequeath unto my Kinsman Henry Hawtin of Avon Dassett aforesaid yeoman the Sum of fifty pounds of like Money I also give and bequeath unto my Kinsman John Hawtin Brother of the said Henry Hawtin the Sum of twenty pounds of like Money I also give and bequeath unto my Brother Richard Bloxham the Sum of forty pounds of like Money I also give and bequeath unto my Nephews William John and Thomas Bloxham and Niece Ann Bloxham Sons and Daughter of my said Brother Richard the Sum of forty pounds apiece of like Money I also give and bequeath unto my Brother Richard Bloxham Son of my said Brother Richard the Sum of Samuel Thomas and Richard Bloxham and Nieces Martha wife of Jonathan Clark of Keynton in the County of Warwick Ann wife of William Haslewood of Chacombe in the County of Northampton Sarah wife of William Strange of Wootten in the County of Oxford Elizabeth Bloxham and Judith Bloxham Sons and Daughters of my said late Brother John Bloxham deceased the Sum of forty pounds a piece of like Money I also give and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeth Tysoe of Bagginton in the County of Warwick Widow the Sum of forty pounds of like Money I also give and bequeath unto my Nephew John Tysoe and Nieces Elizabeth and Mary Tysoe Son and Daughters of my said Sister Elizabeth Tysoe the Sum of forty pounds a piece of like Money I also give and bequeath unto my said Brother Thomas Bloxham the Sum of forty pounds of like Money I also give and bequeath unto such and every of the Children of my said Brother Thomas Bloxham (except his said son William) the sum of forty pounds a piece of like Money all which said Legacies my Will is shall be paid by my said Nephew William Bloxham within two years next after the decease of my said wife Elizabeth Bloxham and in case any of the said Legatees shall die before his her or their Legacy or Legacies shall become due and payable them and in such case my will is that the Legacy or Legacies of him her or them so dying shall not suit but by paid to his her or their Executors or Administrators respectively I also give and bequeath unto my Maid Servant Ann Mayaway the Sum of thirty pounds to be paid to her within two years next after the decease of my said wife Elizabeth Bloxham but in case the said Ann Mayaway shall die before her said Legacy shall become due and payable then the said Legacy shall not be paid but sink into my said Real Estate for the benefit of my said Nephew William Bloxham and I do hereby charge all my said Messuages Cottages Closes Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Real Estate hereinbefore given to my said Nephew William Bloxham and also all my personal Estate hereinafter by me given to him to and with the payment of the said several Legacies and every part thereof all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattels Cattle Ready Money Securities for Money and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresover not hereinbefore by me disposed of I give devise and bequeath unto my said Nephew William Bloxham his Executors Administrators and assigns to and for his and their own use and benefit he paying thereout my just Debts Legacies hereinbefore by me given away and funeral Expenses and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Nephew William Bloxham sole and only Executor of this my last Will and Testament and my will is and I do hereby also desire to be buried at Avon Dassett aforesaid without any funeral pomp and with as little Expence as may be and I do hereby revoke all former and other wills by me at any time heretobefore made In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in four sheets of paper to each Sheet thereof set my Hand and seal the seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty three William     This Will was proved at London of the fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven before the Right Worshipful George Hay Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of William Bloxham the Nephew of the Deceased and sole Executor named in the said will to whom administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased was granted he having been first by Commission sworn duly to administer.
