- ↑ See the deed cited on the father's page showing a son named, William F. Barnes. Based on the order in the deed, William was apparently the oldest son, and based on known or estimated birth, his birth was probably between 1808 and 1815. He may have had a wife named Mary A. Barnes. This is all conjecture based on the cited deed.
A marriage in Gill VRs, shows William F. Barnes publishing to Mary Abby in Dec 1838 (here), m. in Medway 8 Jan 1839 (here). They are found in Milford, NH, in 1850 (line 23), then Troy NY in 1855 (right side, line 1), 1860 (line 15), 1865 (right side, line 15), 1870 (line 40, continuing onto next page), 1875 (right side, line 38), but no William in 1880 (line 19-21). Letters of administration Vol. 81, p. 727 on 8 May 1878 to Mary A and William H Barnes. This seems like a likely candidate, but his birth is about 1817, usually Vermont. Neither birth nor death record has been located.
