William Allen, first son and fourth child of James Allen and Elizabeth, his wife, was born Nov. 6, 1799, and was married to Sarah W.G. Read, daughter of John Nash Read and Mary, his wife, April 22, 1828.
William Allen, son of James Allen and Elizabeth, his wife, and father of the above named children, departed this life on Thursday evening about 8 o'clock, Sept. 22, 1842. After an illness of a few days he was attacked on Friday preceding his death with a soreness in his breast, a chilliness and general debility. He expired under the influence of spasmodic action of the lungs and fell asleep in the arms of the Savior, in whom he had put his trust for more than twenty years.
