Research notes

Burial

  • Theory A = Scary Cemetery in Putnam County, WV.
Basis: Death certificate says only that Millard Adkins was buried in Scary, West Virginia. The only organized cemetery in Scary is Scary Cemetery (see Find A Grave: 2279726 or usgwarchives). It does contain members of the Adkins family, but readings done in 1986 and more recently have not found a stone for Millard Adkins or either of his wives. Scary Cemetery is associated with the Freewill Baptist Church which was at the site but is no longer standing.
