Wilber B. Baker, 87, of Tiffin, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at his home. He was born Jan. 7, 1920, in Tiffin, to Ralph Z. and Mabel (Bonnell) Baker. On Sept. 14, 1940, he married Llewella M. Eberly in Greenup, Ky. Survivors include his wife, Llewella of Tiffin; six children, Virginia Simpson of Billings, Mont., Linda (Ed) Kilen of Fort Seneca, Ronald (Sharon) Baker of Bowling Green, Kay (Jerry) Biller of Chandler, Ariz., Kathy (David Rich) Baker of Mesa, Ariz., and Gregory Baker of Findlay; a brother, Paul (Shirley) Baker, Tiffin; a sister, Greta (Clarence) Free of Green Springs; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph Baker Jr. Wilber attended Tiffin and Old Fort schools. He was a founding member of the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department and a trustee for Clinton Township in the early 1960s. He loved to spend time with his family, friends and Amish friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, woodworking, draft horses and making farm wagons. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barry Bordenkircher officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. The family will greet friends after the burial. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Township Fire Department or Community Hospice Care.
