widow of Hans Michael Schule
Facts and Events
She is listed in the book THE SAINT ADVENTURES OF THE VIRGINIA FRONTIER, SOUTHERN OUTPOSTS OF EPHRATA as the widow of Hans Michael Schule. She went with him and his three children by his first wife Catherina who had joined the convent in Euphrata. His first wife died in the convent in 1741. They lived in a house built by Christopher at a site which is now Kayser, West Virginia. Christopher took his second wife to the cloister for medical treatment in Ephrata in 1757 and she died in March 1758.
I was given her name in a coorespondence as Elizabeth Sheeley. ([email protected]) Sheeley may have been an English version of Schule.
