    He was born on July 21, 1927, in Needmore, IN, to Oren Vestal Hatfield and Lillian A. Turner Hatfield.

    He served in the Navy in WWII as a heavy equipment operator in the Seabees in the South Pacific. He worked at NSWC Crane in shipping, receiving, and household goods. He retired after 40 years of service in 1983. He was also the owner and operator of A-Line Moving & Storage in both Bloomington and Bloomfield. He was a member of Linton First Christian Church, and the Elks in Bedford.

    Survivors include his wife, Rosemary (Rollins) Hatfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Kae Dee (Hatfield) Faubion and Jack Faubion of Heltonville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Jackie Cooper and Gary and Marlene Cooper of Linton, Rick and Pam Cooper of Sullivan, and Tim and Angie Cooper of Bloomfield; one brother, Dale Hatfield, one sister, Bonnie Kruchten of Bedford; fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, at Linton First Christian Church in Linton, IN, with Revs. Jim Cooper and Jim Hatfield officiating. Burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
