Wanda was only 5 or 6 years old when both of her parents died. She lived with her sister Ruby after that. When she was fifteen or sixteen she met Floyd Meyers and they were married and had four children.

Anyone with children can appreciate what happened to Wanda. She had four children spaced about one year apart and she was under 20 years old.

She began to have problems. She attempted suicide and was hospitalized in Dayton. During this hospitalization she had shock treatments. I am very vague on the details of all of this since I was just a child - others that I have asked are also very vague. I have often wondered if those shock treatments effected her for the rest of her life.

Wanda and Floyd moved to Tennessee and I believe she was unhappy there and came back to Ohio. My mother says that Wanda thought Floyd would bring the children and come back to Ohio with her. Floyd, however, got a divorce instead. None of us know what he thought or the reason he got the divorce - we have not seen or heard from him since that time.

Wanda tried on several occasions to see her children and I'm not sure if she was ever able to see them.

She started drinking after that and was arrested one or several times - I'm not sure about all this either. I believe that she married Plez Campbell at this time and moved to California.

She came back from California for my father's funeral in 1962. She was pregnant with Bobbie at that time.

I saw her again for just a few hours in 1966 when I went to California.

Wanda was a very mixed up person and went through many husbands and I gather a lot of drinking. She died when she drove into the back end of a truck on the freeway.
