    Died: LYLE -- A sad drowning accident occurred in the Thornbury Mill Pond on Friday last. Walter Lyle and Fred Thorne, employees of Anderson and Co. Woolen Mills, were playing away the noon hour, throwing rocks into the dam to break the ice. Young Lyle got down on the ice to pick up a rock. When stooping over, the ice gave way and he fell in. The current was very strong and it was impossible to hlep him. The body has not yet been found.
