    "Walter J. Herlihy, 64, of Lavallette, died yesterday at East Orange Veterans Administration Medical Center, East Orange. Mr. Herlihy was the ownder and photographer of Patlin Studios, Bronx, for 12 years. He was a bookmobile operator for the Ocean County Library for four years, retiring in 1980. He was a Navy veteran of WW2 and was a member of St. Bonaventure Holy Name Society and St. Isaac Jogues retreat groups of Loyola House of Retreats, Morristown. Born in Queens, he lived in Riverdale, N. Y., before moving to Lavallette in 1972. Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Salzmann; two sons, Navy Lt. Thomas P. Herlihy U.S. Navy and Qmi. Craig J., Coast Guard; two daughters, Patricia Faia, and Linda Reeve, both Yonkers, N.Y., and nine granchildren. Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, Lavallette, is in charge of arrangements."
