    Funeral rites for Walter V. Brock, 82 year old retired farmer of route 6, Tylertown, were conducted Wednesday from Star Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Stuart, pastor, officiating. The well known Walthall countian was born February 6, 1877, a son of Sandy Brock and Sallie Williams Brock. He married Harriet Dillon Brock and they have lived here for the past 60 years. He was a Deacon of Star Hill Baptist Church, and had been in failing health for the past 10 years. Pallbearers included Sidney Brock, James Thomas, Ray Thomas, Leroy James, Ewell Thomas, Kenneth Wood, James Jenkins, and Glynn Brock. Honorary pallbearers included Warren Ard, Relious Smith, Ottomore Brock, Rufus Dillon, Ard Wood, and Bill Hughes. Survivors include his wife, one son, Fleet Brock of Tylertown, six daughters, Mrs. Era James, Mrs. Pearlie Thomas, Mrs. Rebecca Thomas and Mrs. Lora Mae Jenkins, all of Franklinton La.; Mrs. Mary Lee Magee of Westwego, La. and Mrs. Lucy Thomas of Tylertown. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Interment was in Star Hill cemetery with Hartmans in charge.
