Topeka State Journal Mon. 21 June, 1971, pg. 14:
BURLINGAME--Walter Atwood, 79, Burlingame, died Sunday (June 20) in an Osage City rest home where he had been about a week.
He was born Oct.12, 1891 at Auburn and lived in the community southwest of Auburn 54 years before he moved to Burlingame three years ago. He was a farmer.
He was married to Iza Smith April 23, 1913 at Dover. She survives. A daughter died in 1958.
Besides Mrs. Atwood, a daughter, Mrs. Uarda Marie Yager, Topeka, survives.
Services will be Wed. at Burlingame Federated Church with burial in Auburn Cemetery. Carey Funeral Home is in charge.
