- ↑ A deed recorded May 16, 1912 in Nicholas Co. Kentucky gives his name as W. E. Moore and lists his heirs as John T. Moore, Joe Moore, Kelly Moore, Curtis Moore, Bascom Moore, Everet Moore and Luther Moore and indicates that W.E. Moore was of Middletown, Butler County, Ohio. The 1880 Census for Morgan County, Kentucky lists him as Elbert Moore, age 25, and indicates that he was born in Virginia, as were his mother and father. His date of birth would then have been about 1855
