Virginia Marie Schaefer, 89, of Effingham, Kansas, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 at her home. She was born on April 17, 1922 in Robinson, Kansas the daughter of George and Lola Bland Soden. Virginia was a homemaker and member of the Farmington Christian Church. On June 1, 1944 she married Lloyd Schaefer in Horton, Kansas. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Schaefer of the home; son, Steven & Linda Schaefer of Atchison, Kansas; brother, George "Sonny" & Ramona Soden of Robinson, Kansas; three sisters, Elva Cress of Seattle, Washington, Oma Soden of Everest, Kansas and Barbara Linck of Everest, Kansas; two grandchildren, Russell & Rosanna Schaefer and Ricky & Tonya Schaefer; three great grandsons. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Burial will be at the Rosehill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.
