Funeral Services Will Be Held This Afternoon.
Mrs. William T. Ashford, one of the best beloved women of Atlanta, died at her residence, 13 Ponce de Leon avenue, early yesterday morning after an illness of several months. She was in her sixty-fifth year.
Mrs. Ashford, fomerly[sic] Miss Jennie Kirkpatrick, was born in Chillicothe, Ohio. Since her marriage to Mr. Ashford, thirty-eight years ago, she had lived in Atlanta, where her charming qualities won for her a wide circle of friends. She led a quiet, Christian life and was a devout member of the First Methodist church.
The deceased is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. H. C. Caldwell, and two grandchildren, W. A. and H. C. Caldwell, Jr.
The funeral will be held in the residence at 4 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. Dr. J. S. French officiating, assisted by General C. A. Evans. The interment will be in Oakland cemetery.
