Obituary: Vincent L. Haag, age 70, of Hebron, IN for 48 years, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2005 after a courageous battle with diabetes at Select Specialty Hospital in Hammond, IN. He is survived by his wife: Kay of 48 years Daughter: Allison K. (Gary) Shircliff of Hebron Granddaughter: Alix Shircliff Sister: Marge (Royce) Cattron of LaPorte, IN Many Nieces and Nephews Preceded in death by: Parents- Vincent B. & Mary Louise Haag and Sister- Patricia Minich

Vincent was honorably discharged from the United States Coast Guard serving during the Korean Conflict and a graduate of LaPorte High School class of 1953, he was retired after 32 years of service from NIPSCO and was active in the Local #12775 Steelworker’s Union where he was instrumental in establishing the local S.O.A.R. Chapter (Steelworker Organization of Active Retirees). He was an avid golfer, establishing many golf leagues in the area, he was also active in the Democratic Party, starting as the President of Porter County Young Democrats, Precinct Committeeman and Hebron Democratic Town Chairman and elected as the last Boone Township Justice of the Peace.
