"White Creek" does not know the origins of Vern Steele. He is not doing research on the STEELE family. However, the name of "W. Steele, Jr." appears on a 1875 plat map, in the northeastern corner of Noble Township, of Wabash County, in Section 26. The Section 23, immediately to the north, contains the name of "J. Baumbauer". Vern's wife was RUTH BAUMBAUER, a daughter of Johannes Baumbauer. Could this be the origin of the Steele Family?

"White Creek's" interest here is the origins of the Baumbauer Family, in the village of WALDGREHWEILER, in the Palatinate. The village, and the surrounding dozen villages are the focus of this research on WeRelate.org.
