Facts and Events
The origin of the SINDLINGER Family is not exactly known, by this compiler. However, it is likely that they were pioneers from the Kingdom of Wurttemburg, as Jacob's grandson, Simon, Jr. was born in Moetzingen. It is likely that Jacob Sindlinger remained in Wuerttemberg, and never migrated to Tuscarawas County, Ohio. His son, Simon Sindlinger, Sr. was a member of Zion's Congregation, near Stone Creek, Ohio; and was married (second marriage) in the county. Simon's assumed second wife (Elizabeth Brand) was born in WALDGREHWEILER, from where many of the Urbana pioneers had migrated. Jacob Sindlinger, had a daughter, Anna MARIA Nunnemacher. In the 1860 Census, in Wabash Co., Indiana, the NICHOLAS LOWER family was shown as living with them! WHY? It is easy to confuse the Sindlinger's surname with the Palatine family of SHINDLER, who were also linked to the Haupert Family of Urbana, Indiana. Some of them also appear in these WeRelate.org pages. --White Creek 05:01, 27 June 2017 (UTC) References
