QUAY 3 On the notation for wedding of Hugh, son of Michael and Rose this appears:
"1850 January 15th were married Hugh Corrigan son of Michael and of
Rosa Nugent of the Township of Mara on the one part and and
Catherine Nellis daughter of Thomas Nellis and Mary Boyle, the both
parties are grandchildren of two sisters of which we have dispensed
by a power granted to us."
Little notes in my files also add:
One of the researchers I hired had recently done a chart and
researched the Boyle family at the request of Daniel Boyle. Daniel's
ancestors were Patrick and Rose Boyle (both had the same sunmane).
Patrick was a teacher and died in Ireland. His widow settled in
Oshwa and remarried. She lived in Brock and is buried at Mara in St.
Columbkille's.
Michael Corrigan's mother may have been a Boyle.
The sister relationship is probably through Michael Corrigan's mother
and Thomas Nellis' mother - unless Mary Boyle's mother was also a
Boyle as in the case of Patrick Boyle and Rose Boyle.
