William Healey (or Hele) m. (1) "Grace Ives (Miles)", who d. 8 Nov 1649. [This is one of several sources that misidentify William's first wife as the daughter of Miles Ives. See the discussion of this misidentification on the Talk page.]
"I have thot proper here to insert ye following articles, following the Rev'd Mr Eliot & Danforth's annals of events. - Amos Adams" ... 1649. Month 9t "day 8. Sister Heli dyed in childbed wth othr diseases wh cause her child to dy & was taken fro[m] her by peeches."
↑Source:New England Historical and Genealogical Register, p. 7:232, "Abstracts of Early Wills", will of Elizabeth Moricke, "Widdow of Jno Morricke deseased; at Hingham But now Dwellinge in Roxbery" [the modern spelling of her husband's name is usually John Merrick], dated 14 Mar 1649, proved 7 May 1650, bequeaths to "William Healy of Roxbury" and the "two eldest children of the s'd William Healy". That the bequest is limited to the two eldest children, the surviving children of William's first wife, suggests this Elizabeth is a near relative of that first wife. [As a clue to Elizabeth's identify, her will also mentions a sister "Grace Allam In Linckconshire", see speculation on this at NEHGR 138:21.] John Merrick's will of 24 Jun 1647 (ibid, p. 7:173) forgives "William Heley" a debt he owed the testator.
