  4. Source:New England Historical and Genealogical Register, p. 7:232, "Abstracts of Early Wills", will of Elizabeth Moricke, "Widdow of Jno Morricke deseased; at Hingham But now Dwellinge in Roxbery" [the modern spelling of her husband's name is usually John Merrick], dated 14 Mar 1649, proved 7 May 1650, bequeaths to "William Healy of Roxbury" and the "two eldest children of the s'd William Healy". That the bequest is limited to the two eldest children, the surviving children of William's first wife, suggests this Elizabeth is a near relative of that first wife. [As a clue to Elizabeth's identify, her will also mentions a sister "Grace Allam In Linckconshire", see speculation on this at NEHGR 138:21.] John Merrick's will of 24 Jun 1647 (ibid, p. 7:173) forgives "William Heley" a debt he owed the testator.
  5. The estimated birth date of about 1624 is based on the baptism of daughter Hannah 7 Jul 1644 (see Roxbury Land and Church Records, p 115, or Roxbury VRs, p. 1:176).
