Wilemon, Susie (Powell)

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Warrior River Baptist Church for Susie (Powell) Wilemon, 70, Snead, who died Saturday, April 1, 2006, in Baptist Montclair, Birmingham. Brother Roy Miller, Brother Floy Chambers and Brother Ed Engle will officiate. Interment in Samuel's Chapel Cemetery. Snead Funeral Home directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Powell and Savannah (Stovers) Powell; brothers, Jessie Powell, Erskin Powell, Ray Powell and Gene Powell; sister, Rosella Gann; and son-in-law, Tommy L. Wood.

She is survived by her husband, James Kenneth Wilemon Sr., Snead; son, James Kenneth Wilemon Jr. (Connie), Altoona; daughter, Joan Smith (Ray), Brooksville; son, Jimmy Wilemon (Rebecca), Snead; daughter, Mary Wood, Oneonta; sons, Travis Wilemon (Becky), Horton, Doyle Wilemon (Melinda), Kilpatrick, Odes Wilemon (Kathy), Boaz, and Lynn Wilemon (Kristi), Horton; daughter, Denise Payne (Brian), Clarksville, Tenn.; son, Josh Wilemon (Judy), Douglas; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, J.W. Powell, Billy Joe Powell and Curtis Powell; and sisters, Janice Kimbrell and Essie Callahan.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Wood, David Powell, Joe Wilemon, Brandon Moore, Dewight Wilemon, Robert Self, Brandon Wilemon and Jason Smith.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

She will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time at the church.
