Do not know who or what she was.....(As yet..) But whatever, she left a legacy in my genes that speak as loudly to me as if she and her forebears had raised me personally. Of all who I am, I feel this blood deeper than anything. In my search for my ancestors, I can only feel a deep connection with who I am and what I feel with this woman. Deep inside, on a private level, I feel proud to have that blood, and fantasy-wise, know that somewhere along the line, the same blood as Tecumseh is in my genes....He was of our tribe, and of our blood, and the words that is all that is left of him, echo my own in the year 2003......(To bore yopu I have entered the following details...) Tecumseh.... British GeneralShawnee Chief1768 -1813 A Shawnee chief, Tecumseh sided with the British in an attempt to stop settlers moving into traditional Indian lands. He was brave, intelligent, a great speaker and got on well with the British general Sir Isaac Brock. He helped Brock secure Detroit from General William Hull <http://www.napoleonguide.com/soldiers_hull.htm>, but relations with the Crown grew lukewarm under later commanders. He was killed at the Battle of the Thames, when the British defence gave way. "So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none. When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and nothing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home." Tecumseh, Shawnee Chief AMEN....mandy |
