- Most secondary source about Timothy are obviously flawed.
Source:Society of Colonial Wars in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Publication(S) (Society of Colonial Wars in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts), Vol. 1, p. 181, says "Captain Timothy Parker was born in 1731, son of Timothy Parker, innkeeper, of Roxbury. He married, 10 Jan. 1764, Mary, daughter of Stephen and Sarah (Payson) Williams and died in 1785." The Timothy Parker that d. 1785 was age 31 (born 1754) and had a widow Sarah.
Source:Worcester Society of Antiquity. Proceedings of the Worcester Society of Antiquity, Vol. 18, p. 184 says, "He married 1st, Hannah Curtis, by whom he had one child. Both mother and child died, and he married 2d, Mch. 12, 1767, Margaret, daughter of Moses and Rachel White, of Brookline, Mass. ... He d. Nov. 28, 1809." This appears to be repeated in Source:Cutter, William Richard. New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, Vol. 2, p. 622 and newer, under-researched books (e.g., see here, p. 14).
No marriage of Hannah Curtis to Timothy Parker is found anywhere in Massachusetts. Brookline VRs record p. 220 the death of "Mary, w. Capt. Timothy" on 8 Apr 1766, age 32, and the death of "Timothy, s. Timothy" on 30 Jan 1766, a. 2 d. This is the wife and child referred to by the second source, but her name is not Hannah, it is Mary, and her age at death matches Mary Williams, whose marriage, unlike any Hannah Curtis, is a matter of record in Roxbury.
